Ella started riding at age 4 starting at Pc then progressed to show jumping and eventing. Despite having great success in Show Jumping Ella found herself looking for more and four years ago found Rodeo. After a visit to local western horse trainers and competitors Tamlin Osborne and Andrew McQualter-Whyte, Ella knew what she wanted to do….. Rodeo!
Ella was fortunate to be taught by the best and with Tamlin and Andrews patience and generosity taught Ella the technical aspects of barrel racing and breakaway roping. Ella has found great success in the past two years with breakaway roping in particular in the junior and open competition of the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.
At APRA National Finals held in Emerald Queensland in June Ella finished a respectable fifth in her last junior Pro Rodeo event. Ella is now looking forward to competing in the open division of Pro Rodeo where she is currently sitting 16th in the National Open Standings.
Ellas team of horses consist of Swish her main breakaway horse an 8 year old Paint Quarter Horse, Swish’s uncle Chip a 9 year old dual registered QH Paint who is her main barrel horse and Blaze a rising 8 year old registered QH and her up and coming star who is doing well breakaway roping, team roping and barrel racing.
As Ella said ‘All my horses love there cubes and do so well on them so why would I feed them anything else.
Ella feeds her horses solely MultiCube oaten lucerne cubes. They keep her horses looking great all year round giving good energy and zero wastage. Her horses are fed two large scoops morning and night with just a multivitamin added. The rope horses thrive on cubes holding great condition even when travelling long distances to events. They are easy to store and don’t create mess in the truck like hay and chaff does. When travelling we also love the compressed lucerne hay bales as they take up very little room and give the horses a bit of extra.
